I can tell no doubt at all, that living my life according to Scientology knowledge, has been and is the greatest success in my whole life. Every human being has the gift and right to live. And one should be the Owner and Lord of such a wonderful possession. Yet sadly enough, a quick slant to our everyday surroundings will show us the evidence of the abuse and destruction man exerts over himself, his brotherhood and his environment. He has lost for long the conscience that he is basically good, and acts on behalf of his aberration; so becoming mean and harmful.
There was a time in which I searched for the knowledge about the nature of man and of course my own. I was deeply anxious about the question whether I would survive as a being or not. In my personal research I found sound data about my continuity as an immortal being, which raised my emotional tone up, but could not still have a personal direct reality about that. And so my studies reached to the limit of my misunderstood data, so I inevitably turned away from that path.
So I became "blind and deaf" to that essential urge to be, and began "enjoying life". I gave myself all kinds of licenses and though not getting into criminality, I violated many good rules of my integrity and ethics, falling into a state of confusion and a dwindling spiral bringing trouble and grief to my beloved beings around.
Nevertheless, the ashes of that burned out quest let escape from time to time some little sparks from the fire only apparently extinct. And so I found an issue of Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. Being myself a physician greatly interested in the matter of mind -though cautious too-, I immediately felt a strong agreement with Ron Hubbard's (the author of the aforementioned book), assertions. His discoveries about mind, the principle of existence, the cause of aberration, and, the wonderful method to get man to overcome them, were very real to me. But I was still sitting on the pillar of intellectual speculation.
It was not until the moment in which, in my medical practice, I came across two cases as described exactly in the Dianetics book. I got positively shaken mostly because that fact has always been there, but overlooked by a debased "scientific" thought that circumscribes its observations only to those facts that he who practices it can confront. And Man can confront a certainly scarce amount of reality when he is afraid to see what he really is! By then I was a part of that ignorance and apathy.
But from that moment on I realized I had hit something big. I took my time in getting more causative and determine myself to begin my study of that matter; but I finally did. And that very moment marking the beginning of my new existence, has become the landmark from which an unending string of wins has evolved.
I can not in this space spread an appropriate show of my successes. They are too many... I live in the same world as any of you do, and strive to survive and to make good succeed over destruction, in a greater or lesser extent according to my own ability. But I no longer feel sorry for myself or for my fellowman. I am no longer the adverse effect of the suppression that long ever since man has suffered. I can confront evil with scarce or no fear. I can think about it and get on moving along in spite of its deadly action. I learned this from Dianetics and Scientology.
I also learned how to learn, and after a University degree and three postgraduate Specialty Courses and diplomas, I can assert that I never knew how to study until I used the Scientology Study Technology.
In the field of assisting ill or injured persons I have witnessed astonishing results from the application of simple but powerful techniques that have allowed me to help people professionally with little or no harmful secondary effects at all.
As a member of society I have become more concerned in communicating pro survival data and handling my environment constructively. This viewpoint drove me towards the strong postulate to master Administration Technology, for only through this tool can man have Order and Production in his organizations. And there is no better Administration know-how than Scientology's, for it is based upon the simple truths about how Universe and Man work.
Thanks to the communication skills I earned, I handled harmful situations, whether solving them, or significantly diminishing the damage intended against my possessions or myself. Further still, I could help lots of people in severe anxiety or panic just knowing how to address to them. As I can communicate correctly at will, and being aware of what human reactions are, I have gained a lot more of stability as a being, and carry a very enjoyable life in spite of problems.
In summary, my greatest success in Scientology has been the acquisition of serenity, analytical proficiency, ability, self-confidence, and a high interest in life and betterment of Mankind.
I could carry on for pages but it would just be my own reality, my particular viewpoint. And what about yours? Will you miss your opportunity to run the most wonderful adventure of going after the knowledge of your own self and your Universe?
I hope we will meet sometime. Have my best wishes,
Cristian Rando
